Kindness is difficult to give away because it keeps coming back.
I met this woman a couple of weeks ago. Our time together was not long and was busy...maybe a half hour to an hour. And I think we may have only spent about 1/4 of our time talking. We were at an event for the shelter and I found out she has been volunteering there for quite some time, but our paths never crossed until a few weeks ago. As were talking I had mentioned about my work with the troops (go figure, right) and how I make them cards to send home to their families plus the fact that I make cards for the shelter as well. I had just finished a major project that week that I had with me and showed it to her.....she seemed to be impressed by my work. This kind lady said, "I started to get into scrapbooking, but I never really used the stuff I got," and she told me she would drop it off at the shelter for me one day since she knew I would use it." I told her that would be wonderful and I could always use it for the troops and the shelter cards. Last Saturday when Joe and I were at the shelter I received all the stuff she had and it is a nice amount. I can't believe the kindness this person has shown me and the amount of stuff that she gave to someone she barley knew. I hope to cross paths with her again. The world could use more kindness.
Thank you.
There is so much stuff all piled underneath the stuff on top. |
