Birthday Cards

Since I have been dog sitting the last week and a half I haven't made it into our local animal shelter.  However, I used my time to make some more cards for them to use.  As you can see from the photos my employees needed to give their paw of approval which seems appropriate since the cards are going to an animal shelter.

Kindness

Today I received a generous surprise donation in the mail for all the acts of kindness that I do. I really feel like this is a proper quote for me today. Thank you to the people that sent me this surprise today, you know who you are. I appreciate the support and can promise you that this donation will all go towards future supplies I will need for the troops and the shelter cards. From the bottom of my heart.....many thanks. You don't know what this means to me.

Chosen by Create and Craft

Crafter of the Week - Diane LoughreyCongratulations to our Crafter of the Week, Diane Loughrey from Warren, Massachusetts.
“My name is Diane Loughrey from Warren, MA. I thank God for giving me signs of how I am supposed to use my time with the talents he has granted me. I’ve been crafting as long as I can remember. Even as a kid I wanted to be able to make things for others. I never knew that crafting would not only become a passion in my life, but also a way to serve others along my life’s journey.
Crafter of the Week - Diane LoughreyI am a former volunteer for Operation Write Home and would have kept going if the mission was not complete. I didn’t know that when I started this endeavor in September 2012 that it would lead me to make about 550 cards, many letters to our troops, a presidential honor and a wall full of thank you cards.

Over the years I have been a behind the scenes cheerleader for OWH and want to thank those who have supported me in any way with this endeavor…some have written letters for me to include in my package and there have been donations to help me along the way. I sincerely am grateful to all of you that offered their kind words and encouragement while I was involved with this organization. Bittersweet….the best way to describe the closing of OWH….I’m sad that my cards will not be going overseas for OWH, but I’m happy that our troops are making a return home.
Crafter of the Week - Diane LoughreyHowever, I did find another organization that accepts cards for our troops.  So I sent my first package this year to Operation Gratitude.  I volunteer at our local animal shelter helping with the dogs and occasionally the cats. Along with helping with the dogs and cats, I make handmade cards for the shelter to use. So with the door closing on OWH, God has opened new doors and avenues for my continued work.”

Shelter Cards

This month my cards are going to our local animal shelter.  Not sure where I will be sending the cards next month so stay tuned.  I may just do the shelter again depending on their needs.  If not, Operation Gratitude will get them.  I intend to do an equal amount for each organization this year.
